Residential Services Terms of Service

1. General

  1. You should not enter a service agreement or accept service with Focus Window Cleaning if you do not agree with any of the terms below.  By accepting service from and/or entering into a service agreement with Focus Window Cleaning, you are agreeing to our terms of service as listed on our website.
  2. Any person or company entering into a service agreement with or accepting service from Focus Window Cleaning shall be referred to in this document as “the client” or “client” or “the customer” or “customer”.
  3. These terms of service are subject to change.

2. Payment Details

  1. The client agrees to pay for all services rendered by Focus Window Cleaning.
  2. Payments are due at each service
  3. Payments are not considered paid until they have been deposited in a Focus Window Cleaning account.
  4. Payments can be made using:
    1. Credit card
    2. Focus Window Cleaning’s Online payment system
    3. Electronic Funds Transfer
    4. Cheque
  5. If sending payment in the mail, please ensure there is enough time for us to deposit the payment before your next service.
  6. Late payments are covered under the section “Late Payment”.

3. Maintenance and 1st Time Cleaning

  1. The client agrees to sign and return the order forms to Focus Window Cleaning within 7 days of placing the order.
  2. Focus Window Cleaning agrees to provide a task list of services and scope of work.
  3. Focus Window Cleaning will provide all cleaning detergents and equipment required to carry out the service, unless other arrangements have been made with Focus Window Cleaning.
  4. Any cleaning equipment provided by the customer, shall be safe and in full working order.
  5. Focus Window Cleaning will not be held responsible for any alarm systems or medical alert devices. The client should give any special instructions for deactivation/activation of any alarm systems.
  6. All service technicians working with us and working on our behalf have been screened through a personal interview and checking of references and employment history.
  7. The Client must allow the service technician access to hot water and power.
  8. In case of a complaint, Focus Window Cleaning requires to be notified within 24 hours after completion of the cleaning work.

6. Plans

  1. One month minimum contract length applies for all Maintenance Cleaning Service prices.

7. Late Payment

  1. Focus Window Cleaning reserves the right to suspend services if payment is missing or if paper work is not returned to Focus Window Cleaning within 7 days of placing the order.
  2. Payment can be made by:
    1. Leaving or mailing a completed cheque
    2. Email Transferring funds to accounting@focuscleaners.com
    3. Paying by credit card using our Square system
    4. Paying online using Focus Window Cleaning’s online invoicing system
  3. If you cannot pay in full, please get a hold of us immediately and we will work with you to set up a payment schedule.  All future services will likely be suspended until the clients balance with Focus Window Cleaning is paid in full.
  4. Focus Window Cleaning reserves the right to charge interest and/or service fees for late payments.
  5. Focus Window Cleaning reserves the right to send outstanding invoices to collections, or place a lien on customer property for unpaid debt.  Customer agrees to pay all legal fees associated with collecting outstanding debt.

8. Loose Fixtures

Our goal is to take great care of your property and we are insured for accidental damage.

  1. All fragile and highly breakable items must be secured or removed. Items excluded from liability are: cash, items of sentimental value, art and antiques.
  2. We will not take responsibility for damage to loose fixtures such as:
    1. Any fixture fastened precariously (loosely, unreliably, insecure, risky). This includes but is not limited to:
      1. Pictures
      2. Sinks
      3. Plumbing
      4. Electrical
      5. Faucets
      6. Tiles
      7. Shelves
      8. Dishes
      9. Ornaments
      10. Lights
      11. Electronics such as computer or stereo equipment

9. Data

We take your privacy, workflow and data security seriously. 

  1. When we clean, we do not organize paperwork.  This is so you can find it where you left it.
  2. The client is wholly responsible for backing up, saving and securing any data on site such as:
    1. Customer, company or personal data on a computer (running or not)
    2. Customer, company or personal data on a server (running or not)
    3. Papers left out
  3. In the unlikely event there is a power outage or a piece of equipment loses power or any other issue resulting in client data loss during our visit, Focus Window Cleaning will not be held responsible for any data loss suffered by the client.

10. Pets

We love animals and want yours to be happy, safe and secure.

  1. The client is entirely responsible for any animals in their care.  It is the client’s sole responsibility to ensure any animals under their care is secured (locked in a room, kenneled, caged, put outside in a secure area, etc.) before our arrival.
  2. Focus Window Cleaning will not be responsible for the loss or recovery of any animal which might escape for any reason during our cleaning.
  3. Focus Window Cleaning reserves the right to refuse part or all of a service due to any animal the cleaners perceive to be dangerous (such as an aggressive dog or bird) or unsanitary (such as a muddy dog in the house).
    1. The client acknowledges this would qualify as a Lockout as is laid out in our Residential Service Cancellation Policy

11. No Engagement of Staff or Sub-Contractors

  1. The client acknowledges Focus Window Cleaning invests significant resources in recruiting, selecting and training it’s staff and contractors.  Unless Focus Window Cleaning gives prior written permission, the client must not, directly or indirectly, engage, employ or contract with any Focus Window Cleaning staff member or sub-contractor to provide services to the client or any associate of the client for any period during which services are provided by the Focus Window Cleaning or for a period of one (1) year after the conclusion of any service provided by Focus Window Cleaning.
  2. The client acknowledges that Focus Window Cleaning may suffer loss and damage, including, without limitation consequential loss, as a result of a breach of this clause by the client.

12.Work and Holiday Hours

Regular Hours

Our regular workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:59 pm. 

Scheduling

We schedule your cleaning for the same time and day of the week for your convenience and ours. 

After Hours Charges

After hours charges will apply to any work requested outside our regular business hours.  After hours charges depend on the service being offered and amount of service technicians on site.

Holiday Hours

We are closed for all Canadian and Albertan statutory holidays.  If your regularly scheduled clean falls on a statutory holiday, we will do our best to reschedule to a different day.  If that is not possible, we will skip that cleaning and you will not be charged a First-Time cleaning the next service.

Any work requested on statutory holidays will be subject to an Out of Hours fee.
